In July of 1996, the Winds were invited to perform for the opening ceremonies of Fiesta Roma, a festival held in Rome in conjunction with the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta. The opening ceremonies specially honored the participants in the Olympic Youth Camp, held on the campus of Berry College in Rome. At the opening ceremonies, the Winds played several selections of international music for an audience estimated at over 50,000 people. |
